His practice spans seven albums, multiple community archive projects, and a body of written work that refuses to separate the personal from the historical. His 2026 project Pride in My Heritage: Home Is What Matters Most — a 114-page archive book and six-track EP produced by Free Mind — draws on his family's deep roots in Mound Bayou, Mississippi and the voices of youth from Cincinnati's Aiken High School. Featured in the Contemporary Arts Center's Truth & Inspiration exhibition and distributed on Bandcamp, the project is both an act of love and an act of resistance. His work has been recognized by the Poetry Foundation, the Academy of American Poets, Bandcamp Daily, and Okayplayer, and has taken him from the stages of Cincinnati to the International Arts & Health Festival in Rio de Janeiro.

Brandon currently serves as Director of Narrative & Storytelling at WordPlay Cincy, where he shapes programming for young people finding their voices. He is a 2026 ArtsWave Inspire Artist Grant recipient, a keynote speaker, and a workshop facilitator whose liberatory pedagogy is rooted in the traditions of James Baldwin, bell hooks, and the five elements of hip hop. He is currently developing an oral history and multimedia project centered on belonging, along with his forthcoming EP "I Must Write." His roots are in Cincinnati. His locs are in the Pacific Northwest — his favorite place to write.
