This book is a letter to my home and to my ancestors. It began as an act of searching: reaching back through my family's past, to my great-grandfather Johnny Isaac and the roots he planted in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, and carrying what I found into where I stand now, in my community in College Hill. The students I work with are part of that letter too. Their voices, stories, and questions about home run through these pages alongside my own, because heritage isn't only what we inherit. It's what we pass on.

The book is paired with a six-track EP produced by Free Mind. I wanted it to feel like the booklet you used to find tucked inside a CD, the one you'd unfold and read cover to cover while the album played. The cover was illustrated by student Englyn Logan.

I created this book myself. Every page was designed, assembled, and brought to print independently, with no publisher behind it. I've done my best to keep every edition as affordable as I can while still printing on paper worthy of these stories.

Supported by an ArtsWave Inspire Artist Grant and featured in the Contemporary Arts Center's Truth & Inspiration exhibition.

The first printing sold out at the official release. By request, it's back, now in hardcover.

Preorders close October 23. Books ship by November 15.
